The product is a simple plug and play product. Because it is a RCA to USB connector it is very easy to set up your VCR. The software provides a simple capture the VCR recording process. There is an advanced option that enables you to perform more editing features. I have been only using it to convert many old family VCR home recordings before the tape ages and loses even more quality.

This product is very easy to use. Very simple instructions and easy to follow screens on the computer. I have changed over 10+ VHS to DVD and have been pleased with the results.
Poor video quality from older camcorders

I have a video camera from the mid-90s that uses the 8mm tape. I was looking for a cheap way to transfer the videos to my PC. VHSToDVD 4 is cheap but did not do the job very well. The software included made the job easy but the quality of the transfer was terrible. Video was very grainy. Will probably have to invest in a more expensive solution.
Problematic, but with helpful tech support.

With this product, I was eventually able to copy my VHS tapes to MWV files, and make DVD backups. But I still can't play them on a regular DVD player. Turns out the programs don't work well with the current Quicktime software, and you have to jump through all sorts of hoops to make it work at all. Like restarting my computer every time I open the program. Too much hassle.
