Good PlayerReviewed by Tonks18, 2010-02-27
This DVD player is not fancy, but it is worth the price. I was also worried about the Region 4 on the back, but it does play DVDs from other regions. I was disappointed to find that it is NOT HDMI CAPABLE. I don't know why it suggests that you buy the player and the HDMI cables together. You just have to use the video cables. I would recommend buying the Pioneer DV-220ke if you want the HDMI. The picture and sound quality are quite good.
really plays dvds from all regions.Reviewed by poptart princess, 2010-02-13
i ordered this dvd player because it was a pioneer, region free and priced well. i was slightly skeptical when i first opened the box there was a symbol for region 4 on the box. but it really does play dvds from all regions, no problems so far ( i'm playing mostly regions 2 and 1 ). the picture and sound quality are excellent as well.

GOOD DVD PLAYER BUT NO HDMI AND NOT CD+G KARAOKEReviewed by Terry Schoenberger, 2010-02-01
This pioneer DVD player is nice. It works great and has features
that I like. I am a mobile VJ and keep 2 of these for backup. The
screen has a red display and looks different. It will play many
formats including DVD karaoke but not CD+G karaoke. It has a mic
input with echo that is controlled on the remote. It has composite
and component outputs but not HDMI and the power cord is
detachable. **One great feature is the defeatable screen icons,
meaning you can turn off ALL screen visuals so when you press play,
pause etc, it will not display on the screen. This is very
important for mobile VJ use. It does show "PIONEER" on the screen
when not in use and you cannot turn that off.
Overall a nice player for the price but no HDMI output. This is the
only non-professional player that I have found that has defeatable
screen icons, so its great for VJ use.
